Peter DiCesare

Peter DiCesare is a Dallas-based tenor, actor, and cabaret artist who builds evenings around a single idea: that a familiar song, sung honestly, can land somewhere new. His programming spans more than a century of popular song, musical theatre, and cabaret repertoire, and he performs in English, Spanish, and French.

He made his West End debut at London's Lyric Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue as Andrew in Facing East in Concert. He appeared as solo concert artist with the Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra under conductor David Itkin, and returns to the orchestra as guest artist in its 2027 season.

His solo show That's What She Said: A Love Letter is built entirely from songs written for women and female-presenting characters, reinterpreted as a tribute to the women who raised and shaped him. The show premiered through the DLO Cabaret Series presented by Denise Lee Onstage, earned the 2024 Charles Longcope Jr. Fan Favorite Award for Outstanding Performance, and marked his debut in the Linda Petty Series at the Sammons Center for the Arts. He is currently developing a bilingual program drawn from the Spanish-language songs of his upbringing.

Peter has been a recurring presence with Uptown Players, North Texas's leading LGBTQ theatre company, with credits including Sweeney Todd, The Producers, Songs For A New World, Pageant, Hello Again, The Last Session, and the world premiere of Star of Wonder: A Carol Ann Christmas at the Kalita Humphreys Theater. He has performed with the Turtle Creek Chorale, appears regularly at Dallas Pride and the Arts District Pride Block Party, and sings annually at Night of Stars at The Rose Room.

He holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Texas Christian University and has trained with Jason Robert Brown, Shirley Jones, Shuler Hensley, and Judy Collins. He co-directs Canto Voice Lab with pianist and musical director Adam C. Wright.
